Fans of Okada Masaki and Oguri Shun, at long last, we can watch Uchuu Kyodai (Space Brothers) in English subtitle! RED (Screen Red Asia) is airing the cool movie in Japanese with English sub starting this Friday (1 March 2013) at 9pm Jakarta time (GMT+7). Indonesian viewers can watch this show if they subscribe to Indovision.

What!! They only air it for a week?! I'm in Malaysia for a week from 3 March! Grumble, grumble! It means that I have to just watch the two Friday and Saturday shows next week to quench my thirst of seeing these two gorgeous boys!

Review of Yoshikawa Eiji ‘s ‘Minamoto no Yoritomo’, Book One

The book cover by Wenart Gunadi Thanks to an anonymous commentator almost two weeks ago, I’ve read Yoshikawa Eiji’s book (or Eiji Yoshikawa to Western readers) titled ‘Minamoto no Yoritomo’. Yoshikawa sensei was the author of some masterpieces, including ‘Musashi’ and ‘Taiko’. I read the Indonesian version of ‘Minamoto no Yoritomo’ (no English translation so far); the translation was quite well done.  Obtaining the book was an adventure of its own too. The book was apparently published in May this year, when I didn’t even know about (and fell in love with) Okada Masaki (the actor who played Minamoto no Yoritomo in NHK’s 2012 ‘Taira no Kiyomori’). Hence, the book completely escaped my radar, despite me having read Musashi cover-to-cover twice, once in Indonesian and the next one in English. A recollection of Okada Masaki’s 30th birthday

Okada Masaki in front of birthday wishes from his fans (source:  Toho Stage ). Mine is circled with two hearts... I’m back in my home in Australia now, but I still carry Tokyo within my heart. Specifically, I still carry Ginza in my heart. The Ginza where Okada Masaki celebrated his 30th birthday with us, his fans. Thus, this post, a reminiscence, if you will, of the beautiful day and night where we celebrated Masaki’s birthday with him. I still remember that night; a humid clear sky with strong wind. Just like tonight, the moon was very visible that night, patiently accompanying us as we fans lined up outside the Theatre Creation back stage door to see Okada Masaki. To wish him happy birthday. I didn’t realise until later, but it was full moon during Masaki’s birthday. A beautiful full moon that I was so lucky to witness in the midst of Tokyo, of all cities.
